Multi-table Tournaments (MTT’s) are the biggest tournament type and have the biggest payouts of all online poker tournaments. There can be hundreds and even thousands of players in a MTT. In a MTT you’ll be seated at a full table going up against the other players and peridiocally either be moved to a new table or have new opponents moved from their table to yours as players are knocked out of the MTT. Eventually it’ll come down to a final table with a winner being crowned. Many of the players in a MTT actually finish “in the money” and will win prizes. The number of players that win cash depends on the tournament, number of players etc… and you’ll be able to see that when you register for the tournament in UB’s software.

Late registration is a cool feature for someone coming late to the party. Maybe you were out running errands or just lost track of time. With a late registration two seats are left open on every table for late registrants. You can tell which tournaments allow late registrations because the following message will appear in the tournament lobby: “Late Registration is available for this tournament”. Late registration for these open tournaments seats will be left open until one of the three things listed below happens:

  1. An existing player is knocked out of the tournament (this does not include players in re-buy tournaments who elect to re-buy).
  2. The end of the first level of blinds is reached.
  3. All of the seats left open for late registrants are filled.

Rebuy Poker Tournaments at UB

UB is the originator of online rebuy poker tournaments to its players. The rules can vary slightly based on the tournament but this guide will help you understand exactly what a rebuy tournament is.

In a Rebuy Poker Tournaments players start out buy buying into the tournament, For example, in a $10+1 buy-in $10 will go to the prize pool and $1 will go to the house. You’ll then start out with 1500 tournament chips. A rebuy period for the tournament will be specified.

During the rebuy period in UB.com poker tournaments, you may buy back into the tournament an unlimited number of times. You can pay an additional amount to rebuy which in this example would be $10 tion of the tournament prize buy-in)at any time during the rebuy period. This includes before the tournament starts and right up until the end of the rebuy period. A player must have 1499 or fewer chips to be eligible to rebuy. At the end of the rebuy period, eligible players (those with 1499 or fewer chips who have not used all of their allowed rebuys for the period) will automatically be asked if they want to rebuy. In addition, if a player goes broke during the tournament, play will stop, and the player will automatically be asked if they want to rebuy. At the end of the rebuy period, a rebuy tournament may also allow two optional add-ons. The add-on opportunity is only available twice and it is only available at the end of the rebuy period. The add-on is the same cost as the rebuy. It is available to all players regardless of how many chips they currently have. It grants an additional 2000 chips to the player.

Provided players are eligible to rebuy/add-on, they may do so manually by clicking on “get chips” in the lower-right. As mentioned, players will automatically be prompted to rebuy if they go broke during the rebuy period and/or at the conclusion of the rebuy period provided they have adequate funds in their account.

100% of rebuy and add-on funds are added to the prize pool. While the number of entrants in a tournament may change the number of places that pay, the number of rebuys/add-ons does NOT influence the number of places that pay in standard rebuy poker tournaments. It only increases the amount that each place pays.

Information about the number of rebuys allowed, the amount of time in the rebuy period, and whether there is an add-on will be posted at the top of the tournament information details page for the tournament.
